Massachusetts woman plans on helping family and making a big purchase after $1 million lottery win

DORCHESTER, MA – A Massachusetts woman already has a good idea of how she will spend the cash after winning a big prize.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Yaowarat Pine of Somerset is the winner of a $1 million prize on a Powerball ticket purchased in Massachusetts for the multi-state game’s Wednesday, May 14 drawing that featured a $106.4 million jackpot.

Pine won the prize after the first five numbers on her Quic Pic ticket matched those selected in the drawing. She claimed her $1 million prize (before taxes) Tuesday, July 1 at the Massachusetts State Lottery’s Dorchester headquarters. She said she plans on purchasing a condo and helping her children with the winnings.

She checked her ticket over a month later and she couldn’t believe she was a $1 MIILLION winner!

Her winning ticket was purchased at Sing-Ha Liquors, 27 Market St. in Swansea. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
