Massachusetts woman plans on having some fun after hitting $1 million State Lottery prize
A Massachusetts woman plans on living it up after hitting big money on a State Lottery scratch ticket.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Vicki Sumner is the tenth $1 million prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “Billion Dollar Extravaganza” instant ticket game, the Mass Lottery’s first $50 ticket.
Sumner, of Bernardston, opted to receive her prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). She said she plans to use some of her winnings to pay off her car loan and “have some fun.”
She purchased her winning ticket at the Greenfield Lodge of Elks, 3 Church St. in Greenfield. The organization receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
The ticket price may be hefty, but with an overall prize payout of 82.0 percent, “Billion Dollar Extravaganza” has the highest payout percentage of any game ever offered by the Mass Lottery. The odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 4.10.
