Massachusetts woman has a lot of plans after hitting on State Lottery $1 million prize
A Massachusetts woman already has a lot of plans after hitting big money on a State Lottery scratch ticket.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Maria Marques has won a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “Monopoly 50X” instant game.
Marques, who is from Fall River, chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). She plans to use her winnings to make some property repairs, buy new furniture items, get a nice ring for herself, and go on vacation.
Marques purchased her winning ticket at Joe’s Liquors, 90 Eagle St. in Fall River. She said she likes to purchase her tickets at different stores and that this was the first time she had been to this location. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale.
