Massachusetts woman becomes $1 million prize winner and her plans with the money may make her mother of the year
The children of a Massachusetts mother that hit it big on a State Lottery scratch ticket must be rejoicing after she announced her plans on what she will do with the winnings.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Susan Fitzpatrick is the first $1 million prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$10,000,000 Lucky Bucks” $20 instant ticket game.
Fitzpatrick, who is from Hull and chose to play this game because it was new, opted to receive her prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). She plans on using her winnings to pay off her house and help her kids.
She purchased her winning ticket at Hancock Tobacco located at 1500 Hancock Street in Quincy. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
