Massachusetts woman allegedly shot by husband remembered as incredible human being
WORCESTER – A man has been arrested and arraigned in connection with the death of a woman in Leominster, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early, Jr.
On Friday, at approximately 2:55 p.m., Leominster Police responded to a home on Union Street in response to a 911 call.
64-year-old James Marsh was taken into custody after a multi-hour standoff by members of the Leominster Police Department, Mass. State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, Mass. State Police Special Tactical Operations (STOP) Unit, Mass. State Police K-9 Unit, and the Mass. State Police Crisis Negotiation Unit.
Marsh’s 62-year-old wife Ann was located inside the residence and pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to NBC Boston, at arraignment in Leominster District Court this week, prosecutors allege that there was an altercation with his wife and Marsh shot and killed her. When police responded to the home, Marsh pointed his gun at police officers and saw him sitting on the couch next to his wife.
Marsh is being held on bail on assault with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury charges.
Those who knew Ann Marsh, who worked for decades in the furniture industry have described her as a nice lady, a great employee, and an incredible human being.
A probable cause hearing is scheduled for Friday.
