Massachusetts teen killed in highway collision remembered as a great kid with a huge heart who was headed to college
A crash on a Massachusetts highway has claimed the life of a Bay State teen.
Massachusetts State Police responded Friday evening after a vehicle traveling eastbound on Route 2 in Leominster plunged off an overpass and fell onto Nashua Street below.
Three people were inside the car when it went off the roadway.18-year-old Travis Teixeira of Ashburnham was killed in the crash. The other two occupants were seriously injured and transported to area hospitals.
According to family and a GoFundMe fundraiser, Teixeira “has always been such a great kid with a huge heart, a great athlete, an incredibly smart young man who got into every college he applied to. He was filled with passion, justice and light. A light the world needed.” Others described him as friendly and a hard worker who had worked at the Blueprint Restaurant in Westminster and had big goals and dreams.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Worcester County State Police Detective Unit and the Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Section.
