Massachusetts teen held without bail in Fall River court after 16-year-old girl shot in the face

A Massachusetts teen was arraigned Monday in Fall River Superior Court concerning a Bristol County shooting that caused serious injuries.

According to court records, 18-year-old Anthony Lopes of Brockton, MA, was arraigned on charges of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury, Carrying a Firearm without a License, Assault and Battery with a Firearm, Possession of a Large-Capacity Firearm, and Armed Robbery in connection with the shooting of a 16-year-old female victim on January 14, 2025, in Easton, MA.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., Easton Police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at an apartment complex on Robert Drive. The suspects fled the area prior to police arrival.

Upon arrival, officers located a teenage female suffering from a gunshot wound to the face outside of her home.

The victim was transported by an Easton Fire ambulance to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, then flown by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

According to The Enterprise, the victim was shot during a robbery gone bad over an $800 designer jacket she was attempting to sell.

Antonio Fonseca and Xavion Barnes were previously arrested in connection with the shooting.

Lopes pled not guilty and was held without bail pending the results of a July 1st dangerousness hearing.
