Massachusetts teen accused of murdering 17-year-old in Market Basket lot captured in Dominican Republic
Lynn, Mass. – Authorities have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of Kai Burgos, 17, of Lynn, that took place in the 40 Federal Street parking lot of Market Basket in Lynn on June 15. Adrian Pena, 18, of Lynn is now in custody after being apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service in the Dominican Republic on Tuesday, July 16. The suspect in the fatal shooting will be arraigned on a fugitive from justice charge in Miami. In addition to the U.S. Marshals Service, the Lynn Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Office of Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker, and law enforcement officials in the Dominican Republic contributed to the investigation.
“We look forward to prosecuting this case to achieve justice, and hopefully some measure of peace, for Kai Burgos’ family,” says Tucker. “The perseverance and determination of law enforcement in this case speaks to their dedication in pursuit of a just outcome and to the safety of our community.”
Lynn Police found Burgos suffering from a gunshot wound inside a crashed car that had rolled into an adjacent ravine. Burgos was then transported to Salem Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
“This arrest demonstrates our commitment to hold accountable those who commit acts of violence in our community,” says Lynn Chief of Police Chris Reddy. “I am grateful for the tremendous work of the Lynn Police Department, Massachusetts State Police, the Office of District Attorney Paul Tucker, and our partners at the U.S. Marshals Service.”

So many of these criminals “claim” they are “afraid” of the American Criminal Justice System, and this is an outro LIE. For in the U.S., convicted criminals have rights, medical care, 3 meals per day. In other Countries, they have NO rights whatsoever, virtually NO medical care if any, overcrowded cells with as many as up to 10 inmates in a similar sized cell in the U.S. where it may only house up to 3 persons.
