Massachusetts State Police warning public as citizens receiving scam calls
Massachusetts State Police are warning the public of a scam that is currently taking place.
MSP stated that they have been made aware that there are currently hoax calls being made to citizens that appear to come from the phone number (508-829-4431) of the Holden State Police Barracks.
The suspect making the calls is identifying himself or herself as a Trooper and leaving a message claiming that police have a warrant for the call recipient’s arrest.
MSP wants the public to know that such calls are fraudulent and that no law enforcement official would call and advise you that you have an arrest warrant.
The calls are not being made by State Police or any police department, and residents should hang up or ignore the message.
