Massachusetts State Police reveal thwarted human trafficking plot involving SE Mass girl to raise awareness

To raise awareness and educate the public, Massachusetts State Police have shared an incident where they thwarted a human trafficking plot.

 

Troopers in the field disrupted an apparent human trafficking scheme reuniting a 22-year-old, neurodivergent women with her family.

 

The young woman left her home in southeastern Massachusetts to meet a man she met online. The man asked her to leave her family, board a bus from Boston’s South Station to Hartford, Connecticut, and meet two individuals there who would facilitate her transportation to visit him in Jamaica.

 

When the woman’s family called the State Police, Troopers rushed to meet the bus that unfortunately left Boston earlier than scheduled. They then searched for, identified, and stopped the bus on the MassPike where they located the woman safe and sound.
