Massachusetts State Police respond to fiery crash on I-195 in Seekonk with serious injuries

Massachusetts State Police responded to a local highway crash on Tuesday.

According to Trooper James DeAngelis, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Troopers responded to Route 195 eastbound at mile marker 1.6 in Seekonk for reports of a serious crash.

Upon their arrival they discovered a GMC Sierra that had struck a median barrier and was actively engulfed in flames.

Due to the serious injuries the operator sustained in the crash, Troopers requested the assistance of Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services Section to respond.

Lane closures remain to facilitate the investigation.

MassDOT and Seekonk Police and Fire responded to the scene for assistance as well.
