Massachusetts State Police report death of man in Massachusetts waters after body found
A man died in Massachusetts waters this weekend authorities say.
According to Dave Procopio of Massachusetts State Police, the Massachusetts Environmental Police, the Massachusetts State Police, and the Natick Fire and Police Departments, last night recovered the body of a boater whose canoe capsized on Fiske Pond in Natick.
Troopers from MSP Underwater Recovery Team and MSP Marine Unit and Environmental Police Officers located the victim utilizing side-scan sonar at around 10:30 PM. MSP divers then recovered the body of the adult male.
Another person who was in the capsized canoe made it to shore on his own prior to first responders’ arrival.
Fiske Pond is part of the Lake Cochituate sub-basin.
The name of the victim was not released.
