Massachusetts State Police release preliminary investigation findings into fatal crash on Route 24 in Fall River
Authorities have released more details concerning the fatal pedestrian crash that took place on the morning of November 17th in Fall River.
According to Dave Procopio of Massachusetts State Police, preliminary investigation indicates that at 5:15 a.m., a Ford F250 truck was northbound on Route 24 prior to Exit 8 when a woman suddenly crossed over the guardrail along the median and ran into the left lane.
The driver of the truck, a 44-year-old Fall River man, was not able to avoid the collision and struck the woman. She was determined to be deceased on scene.
The victim was identified as 37-year-old Christin Oliveira of Lakeville.
Friends expressed how much they will miss Oliveira. A tragic loss any time of year but especially with the holidays approaching.
Procopio stated that the investigation into the crash is not yet closed because the collision analysis and reconstruction report generally takes several weeks to complete.
