Massachusetts State Police release name of victim in fatal motorcycle versus car crash
A man is dead after a weekend motorcycle crash involving another vehicle.
According to Massachusetts State Police, at just before 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, Massachusetts State Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 290 westbound in Worcester.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2020 Honda CRV was traveling in the left lane on Interstate 290 westbound when it came into contact with a Harley Davidson. The operator of the Harley Davidson, Robert Petterson, 56, of Farmington N.H. was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The CRV’s driver was not injured in the crash.
The left and center travel lanes of Interstate 290 westbound were closed for nearly an hour.
The crash remains under investigation by Troop C of the Massachusetts State Police, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and investigators from the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office. Troopers were assisted by Worcester Fire and EMS, and Worcester PD.
