Massachusetts State Police release name of man killed in multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 195 in Dartmouth

A local man has died in a multi-vehicle highway crash on Wednesday.

According to Massachusetts State Police, at approximately 11:20 a.m., the Dartmouth Barracks received a report of a three-car crash involving a tractor trailer on Interstate 195 West in the Town of Dartmouth. The caller indicated that one of the operators was not breathing and that person was declared dead at the scene by Dartmouth EMS.

The State Police Crime Sence Services Section, the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section, and the Bristol County State Police Detective Unit responded to the scene.

No information is immediately available about the cause of the crash, and the circumstances remain under investigation by the State Police.

Interstate 195 West reopened to normal traffic at 2:35 p.m.

The deceased operator was identified as Anthony Moniz, 62, of New Bedford.

MSP offered condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones.
