Massachusetts State Police release name of Fall River motorcycle rider killed in crash
The name of a Fall River man killed in a motorcycle crash this weekend has been released.
According to Tim McGuirk of Massachusetts State Police, shortly after 5:00 p.m. Saturday, State Police responded to a serious motorcycle crash involving 2 other vehicles, on Route 6 east in Somerset on Veterans Memorial Bridge before Route 79.
Personnel from the Dartmouth Barracks, the Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Unit (CARS), Crime Scene Services Section (CSSS), and the Bristol County Detective Unit responded to the scene along with MassDOT officials.
The right lane was closed until shortly before 8:00 p.m. for the safety of motorists, investigators, and highway officials.
The motorcycle operator was transported to a Fall River hospital where he was pronounced dead. He is identified as 34-year-old Eric Mareiro.ย
McGuirk offered condolences to Mareiro’s loved ones on behalf of Massachusetts State Police.
The crash is still under investigation.

Unfortunately it happens too often and it’s so sad to hear that especially with two children and a wife he leaves behind, my prayers are with his family and friends ๐

I used to ride my Harley but would NEVER ride these days….everyones on their phones not paying attention…..so sorry to the family this is a tragedy….too young…pay attention people!!!!… poor kids don’t have a dad anymore…..not knowing who’s fault it is but it just needs to Be said
