Massachusetts State Police release name of 20-year-old killed in Route 195 crash in Somerset; remembered as sweet with beautiful soul
Massachusetts State Police are investigating a local fatal highway crash.
According to Massachusetts State Police, shortly after 2:00 a.m. Friday morning, State Police personnel from the Dartmouth Barracks responded to a motor vehicle crash on Interstate 195 west at the 9.6 mile marker in Somerset.
Troopers located a single vehicle in the median. The operator, who was the sole occupant of vehicle, was pronounced dead on scene by EMS.
In addition to Somerset and MassDOT officials, State Police personnel assigned to the Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and the Bristol County State Police Detective Unit responded to the scene.
For the safety of first responders, highway officials, and motorists, State Police partially closed the road until approximately 6:00 a.m.
The deceased operator is identified as 20-year-old Rylee O’Connor of Swansea.
MSP offered their condolences to her family and loved ones.
Those who knew O’Connor described her as a sweet woman with a beautiful and amazing soul.
Services have yet to be announced.
