Massachusetts State Police pursuit on Route 24, I-495, I-95 ends with arrest in woods in Bristol County
A Massachusetts man is facing several charges after a police pursuit through multiple communities led to an arrest.
According to Massachusetts State Police, at approximately 2:30 a.m. this morning, a Blue Jeep Liberty failed to stop for State Police on Route 24 south in Brockton.
State Police Dispatch relayed information that the vehicle failed to stop on at least two occasions in the last 24 hours for both State and Brockton Police.
The vehicle traveled from Route 24 south to Interstate 495 north where State Police successfully deployed stop sticks.
The vehicle exited onto Interstate 95 south where it lost a tire and continued on its rim. Troopers deployed a second stop stick. As the vehicle approached Exit 2A, it lost control and crashed. Troopers observed the operator flee on foot into a wooded area, and they detained the passenger, a man in his 20s.
State Police K-9s, members assigned to the Drone Unit, and Rhode Island State Police responded to assist with the search.
With a perimeter in place, a RISP drone located the suspect lying in a heavily wooded area in Attleboro. Guided by their direction, MSP K-9s located the suspect and apprehended without further incident shortly after 4 a.m.
The operator is identified as Mohamed Jalloh, of East Bridgewater. He is expected to be arraigned this morning in Brockton District Court on charges including: Failure to Stop for Police, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Breakdown Lane Violation, Speeding, Marked Lane Violation, and Unsafe Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
