Massachusetts State Police: Possible remains of an infant discovered outside apartment building
The Massachusetts State Police, local police, and the District Attorney’s Office are investigating the discovery of possible remains of an infant outside an apartment building earlier tonight.
According to Dave Procopio of Massachusetts State Police, at 6:23 p.m. tonight, Revere Police patrols responded to a multi-unit building at 86 Dolphin Avenue in the city’s Beachmont neighborhood after an adult male located the possible remains near the exterior of the building.
Troopers assigned to the State Police Detective Unit for Suffolk County, Revere Police Detectives, and Troopers from the State Police Crime Scene Services Section also have responded to that address.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will take custody of the possible remains to conduct further forensic examination.
Procopio stated that the investigation into the facts and circumstances surrounding the possible remains is active and fluid at this time and in order to protect the integrity of that investigation, no further information could be released.
