Massachusetts State Police: Man killed in fiery crash involving tractor-trailer
A Massachusetts man has died after a fiery two-vehicle crash.
According to Massachusetts State Police, at 9:23 p.m. Thursday evening, State Police patrols responded to a two-vehicle crash on the Massachusetts Turnpike eastbound in Warren that resulted in the death of one of the vehicle’s drivers.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2021 Subaru Outback was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck the rear of a tractor-trailer. The Subaru was wedged beneath the trailer and caught fire.
The operator of the Subaru, Christian Sherrow, 28, of Worcester, was determined to be deceased on scene. The operator of the Tractor-Trailer was not injured.
The complete facts and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation by the State Police-Charlton Barracks, The Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section, State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
All lanes of Route 90 eastbound were closed for approximately one hour to facilitate the investigation and cleanup of the scene. The crash was cleared around 2:20 a.m.
