Massachusetts State Police makes many impaired driving arrests, extra patrols to continue for NYE
Extra patrols by Massachusetts State Police over the holidays netted many impaired drivers and traffic violators.
The Massachusetts State Police conducted saturation patrols across the state — extra patrols targeting impaired drivers and other dangerous traffic offenses in specific geographic areas in each Troop — on the night before Thanksgiving and again during Christmas week.
According to MSP, those extra patrols alone, on those nights, arrested 14 drivers who were under the influence of either alcohol or drugs, arrested or issued summons to dozens of motorists for other offenses, and cited several hundred other drivers for speeding or other traffic violations.
Continuing that effort, the Massachusetts State Police will again deploy extra patrols on New Year’s Eve.
