Troopers recently made an arrest and seized weapons on a local highway.

According to Massachusetts State Police, a Trooper from the Middleborough Barracks was patrolling Route 24 in Bridgewater when he noticed a vehicle without a front plate attached. The Trooper initiated a traffic stop.

When the Trooper approached the car on the passenger side, one of the passengers had his body turned away from him. The Trooper then moved to the driver’s side of the vehicle and was able to get a better view of the passenger who was wearing an unzipped fanny pack with multiple bundles of cash.

With the assistance of back up, Troopers removed both people from the vehicle, searched them, and discovered the driver in possession of a double-edged knife and a firearm. The driver was taken into custody without incident.
