Massachusetts State Police locate missing 24-year-old woman
Authorities have located a missing woman that needed care.
According to Massachusetts State Police, in the afternoon shortly before 4:00 p.m., Hadley Police requested State Police assistance in searching for a missing 24-year-old woman last seen that morning.
State Police deployed the Special Emergency Response Team which provides partner agencies with a highly trained and professional field force available on short notice as well as the K-9 Unit, and the Air Wing.
SERT members began a thorough search of the area and located the woman in the woods on Mount Warner shortly after 5p.m. The woman was conscious, but hypothermic, so SERT members qualified as EMTs treated her and prepared her for transport on a handheld stretcher.
SERT members with personnel from the Department of Conservation and Recreation and the Hadley Fire Department carried the subject out to a trail where she could be safely transported by a UTV.
