Massachusetts State Police, local crews, respond to crash on I-495 with serious injuries

Multiple people were injured Tuesday in a multi-vehicle highway collision.

According to the firefighter union, at just before 5:00 p.m., Franklin Engine 1, Ambulance 4, and Bellingham Firefighters Local 2071 responded to I-495 Southbound near mile marker 43.6 for a two-vehicle crash.

Massachusetts State Police also responded to the scene.

All southbound lanes were closed to land a medflight helicopter.

Two patients were transported, one to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries and another to Milford Hospital.

The crash is under investigation.
