Massachusetts State Police issue update on cows that got loose on Route 195 in Westport
Massachusetts State Police helped corral several cows that were loose on a local highway on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Trooper James DeAngelis, Troopers responded to reports of approximately five cows in the roadway on Route 195 eastbound in Westport at 5:00 p.m.
Witnesses stated that they saw one of the cows in the roadway and appeared to be injured.
Troopers assisted with lane closures while the owners secured all of the cows.
The incident caused a significant backup on the highway during rush hour.
The scene was clear prior to 5:30 p.m.
