Massachusetts State Police investigating rollover crash on Route 140 after not locating occupants

Massachusetts State Police made an interesting discovery after a late-night crash late last week.

According to Trooper Leah O’Connell, on Friday, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Troopers from the Dartmouth Barracks responded to a report of a crash on Route 140 in New Bedford.

Upon their arrival, the vehicle was found abandoned.

According to scanner transmissions, the New Bedford Fire Department also responded to the flipped vehicle near Route 195 with crews searching for people possibly trapped or ejected from the vehicle to no avail.

The incident is still under investigation.
