Massachusetts State Police investigating hit and run crash into fire engine on Route 495
A hit and run crash into a fire engine is currently under investigation.
According to the Mansfield Fire Department, at approximately 4:30 am this morning, Mansfield Engine 33 was operating at a MVA on Route 495 Southbound just prior to exit 27 in Norton when the Engine was struck by a tractor trailer truck.
No one was in the Engine at the time and there were no injuries from the secondary accident.
The Engine has sustained significant damage to the front passenger’s side of the vehicle.
The tractor trailer unit did not stop after the accident. The only description of the TT unit at this time is a TT unit with a white trailer with significant damage to the front driver’s side of the Tractor portion.
