Massachusetts State Police investigating fiery crash that killed 19-year-old, victim’s name released
The name has been released of a Massachusetts teen killed in a fiery crash this week.
According to Massachusetts State Police, at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Monday, Massachusetts State Police Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 202 in Pelham that resulted in the death of the operator of the vehicle.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2013 Toyota Siena was travelling on Daniel Shays Highway (Route 202) in Pelham when it crashed into a tree and caught fire. Troopers and EMS on scene were able to quickly extricate the driver from the Toyota, a 19-year-old Essex man, and transport him to a nearby medical facility where he was pronounced deceased.
According to the Daily Hampshire Gazette, the victim’s name is Joseph Tucker.
The north and south lanes of Route 202 were closed for three hours. The crash remains under investigation by Troop C of the Massachusetts State Police, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and the Worcester County State Police Detective Unit. Troopers were assisted by Pelham PD, Pelham Fire and EMS, and Belchertown Fire and EMS.
