Massachusetts State Police investigating fatal crash on I-95
At approximately 2:45 a.m. today troopers assigned to State Police-Foxboro responded to numerous 911 calls of a single vehicle rollover crash on Route 95 Northbound in the area of Exit 6A in Mansfield. Upon the arrival of troopers the vehicle was located off the roadway to the left.
Preliminary information reveals the 2015 Infiniti Q40 was operated by a 25-year-old male from Brockton when, for reasons unknown at this time, it rolled into the center median. The vehicle was occupied by two people who were ejected during the crash. The 25-year-old operator was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The 27-year-old passenger was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by Troopers assigned to State Police Foxboro, State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and State Police Troop H Detectives. Troopers were assisted on scene by Mansfield Fire & EMS and MassDOT. No other information is available at this time.
