Massachusetts State Police investigating after pedestrian struck on I-195, lane closures in effect

SEEKONK– The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced that lane closures are currently in place due to an earlier collision.

Just after 11:00 a.m. a call came into dispatch for a vehicle versus a pedestrian on I-195 westbound in the area of exit 1 (Route 114A) in Seekonk.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital. The driver, who was reportedly in his 70s, appeared to have minor injuries and was understandably shaken up.

The lane closures are expected to remain in place for several hours.

In addition to Massachusetts State Police, Seekonk and East Providence crews are among those responding to the scene.
