Massachusetts State Police hold annual memorial service for those they have lost in the past year

The Massachusetts State Police honored Sunday morning those that they have recently lost.

The Massachusetts State Police held their annual memorial service for active, retired, and civilian members who had passed away within the last twelve months.

The somber event, which took place at the MSP General Headquarters in Framingham, started with a memorial mass presided over by Father Bill Hamilton and Rabbi William Hamilton. The mass was concluded with a reading of the names of 45 sworn, and four civilian members of the department who had passed from 2021 to 2022.

After the service, those paying their respects moved outside to the MSP memorial monument in the front of the General Headquarters building. There, Colonel Mason, and president of the Retired State Troopers Association of Massachusetts Robert McCarthy placed commemorative wreaths at the base of the monument honoring those who had departed this world in the last year.

Massachusetts State Police concluded with “in memory of those who have completed their last patrol and have gone before us. May they rest in peace.”
