Massachusetts State Police have three fugitives on Level 3 Most Wanted Sex Offender list
The Massachusetts State Police still have three fugitives on their list of Most Wanted Sex Offenders. Troopers from the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section are actively searching for these fugitives, all of whom have previously been convicted of violent crimes and have failed to abide by their requirements to register as Level 3 sex offenders. Any member of the public who sees or has information about them is urged to call the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section immediately at 1-800-527-8873 or to call 911.
Juan C. Gonzalez, now 60, has been classified as a Level “3” Sex Offender by the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board and is wanted for four counts of failure to register as a sex offender as required by law. Gonzalez was convicted of rape of a child with force in 1989 in connection with repeated sexual assaults of a child in Taunton, beginning when the child was 5 years old. Gonzalez has additional convictions for masked armed robbery, unlawful carrying of a firearm, assault and battery, and making threats. He is Hispanic, with black hair and brown eyes, 6’3” tall, weighs about 200 lbs., and has a tattoo on his upper right arm and scars on his left shoulder, back, abdomen, and hip. Gonzalez has used numerous aliases in the past, including Juan Gonsalves, Willie Gonsalves, Alex Guerrero, Juan Gonzalez Irizarry, and Jason Diaz. He has ties to Taunton, Boston, and New York.
Carlos Beltran, now 54, has been classified as a High Risk, Level “3” Sex Offender by the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board and is wanted by the Haverhill Police Department for Indecent Assault & Battery on a person over 14. Beltran was convicted of 2 counts of Indecent Assault & Battery over 14 in 2006 and served 18 months in a state prison. In addition to his sex offense conviction, Beltran served 1 year for possession of a device for wiretap. Warrant #’s 0638CR002084 and 0838CR001733 have been issued for Beltran out of Haverhill District Court for Indecent Assault & Battery and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Warrant # 0812CR000654 has also been issued for Beltran out of Newton District Court for Violation of Abuse Prevention Order.
Steven Michael Cooper, now 53, has been classified as a High Risk, Level “3” Sex Offender by the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board and is wanted by the Springfield Police Department for Rape and for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Cooper was convicted of Rape in the state of Georgia in 1987 and was sentenced to 20 years confinement. The Springfield District Court has issued Warrant #0823CR003050 for Cooper for Rape which occurred on 03-21-08 in the city of Springfield. Warrant #0823CR1635 was also issued for Cooper for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
