Massachusetts State Police, fire/EMS crews respond to multi-vehicle crash on Route 495
Massachusetts State Police and local crews responded Wednesday afternoon to a highway crash.
At approximately 3:15 p.m. a call came into dispatch for a two-vehicle crash on Route 495 South in Plainville.
Upon arrival, crews located two vehicles in the breakdown lane.
The driver of the heavily damaged vehicle pictured above was transported to Rhode Island Hospital. The second driver had moderate damage and no injuries.
Both Plainville and Foxborough crews responded to the scene.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation announced at approximately 4:30 p.m. that delays of approximately six miles were being reported on I-495 southbound in the vicinity of exit 36 in Plainville. Lane closures were previously in place due to cleanup from the crash, but all lanes are now open.
Drivers traveling through the affected area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
