Massachusetts State Police arrest 26-year-old accused of murdering 73-year-old father
PLYMOUTH – A Plymouth man has been arrested in the murder of his 73-year-old father, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.
Massachusetts State Police placed 26-year-old Matthew Paluzzi under arrest this afternoon. He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Plymouth District Court on one count of Murder.
At approximately 6:26 a.m. this morning, Plymouth Police received a 911 call from a caller at 15 Cedar Road for a report of a man unresponsive in the kitchen bleeding from a laceration to the neck. Plymouth Police and emergency personnel responded, and the male victim was pronounced deceased. He has been identified as 73-year-old Anthony Paluzzi.
Plymouth Police contacted Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and began the investigation. Plymouth Police put out a Be On The Lookout alert for Matthew Paluzzi and a motor vehicle, a 2017 Nissan Murano. Hanover Police located Matthew Paluzzi along Columbia Road, and he was taken into custody.
Massachusetts State Police and Plymouth Police developed probable cause and Matthew Paluzzi was taken into custody this afternoon.
The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has accepted jurisdiction and will determine a cause of death.
