Massachusetts State Police and Freetown personnel respond after man robbed, assaulted while on highway
A man was reportedly robbed and assaulted on a local highway late last week.
Just after 9:45 p.m. on Thursday, Massachusetts State Police and Freetown personnel responded to a man who had been struck on the left side of his head with an object on Route 140.
The man reportedly stopped on the side of the road to check a mechanical issue on his vehicle when a dark pick-up truck pulled up behind him.
One of the two white suspects then pointed a handgun at the victim, robbed him of a lock box in his vehicle and his wallet.
The victim stated that the two men headed north on Route 140.
The incident took place in the area of mile marker 8.
Massachusetts State Police are investigating.
