Massachusetts State Police airwing, Troopers on the ground, combine to arrest fleeing car theft suspect on Route 195
A chase on a South Coast highway led to the capture of a car theft suspect due to a collaborative effort by authorities.
According to Massachusetts State Police and the State Police Association of Massachusetts, on Sunday, Air Wing 4 was requested by the D Troop Duty Office after the operator of a stolen motor vehicle bailed into the woods off of Route 195.
Air Wing 4 quickly responded to the location and were able to locate the suspect by using thermal cameras on board. Troopers on board then led K-9s to his location in a swampy area with thick vegetation.
The incident occurred in Dartmouth on Route 195 Eastbound at the 22.6 mile marker.
The suspect was last seen running into the wood line south of Route 195 fleeing westbound towards Faunce Corner Mall Road before capture.
The name of the suspect and charges sought were not released.
