Massachusetts State Police airwing locates missing 12-year-old girl

Massachusetts State Police located a missing child with help from above.

According to Massachusetts State Police, during an evening patrol, Air 4 responded to assist ground assets in the search for a missing 12-year-old girl in Haverhill. 

The girl was reportedly wearing only a t-shirt and pants and first responders feared for her safety in light of the cold winter temperatures.  

Immediately upon arriving to the area, the crew of Air 4 began an aerial search of the surrounding neighborhoods utilizing advanced cameras and quickly observed a person matching the girl’s description walking along a street. Using the full-color camera and the last bit of daylight, Troopers confirmed this was in fact a young girl matching the general description of the missing party.  

The crew relayed this information to nearby Troopers and Officers on the ground, who quickly recovered the missing girl unharmed.
