Massachusetts State Police: 37-year-old woman killed in crash on Route 24
A Massachusetts woman has been killed in an accident on Route 24.
According to Dave Procopio of Massachusetts State Police, at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Massachusetts State Troopers responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash on Route 24 north in Stoughton that resulted in the death of the operator.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2015 Infiniti Q40 was northbound in the right lane when, for reasons still under investigation, it went off the right side of the road, entered the grass shoulder, hit a guardrail and rolled over.
The driver, 37-year-old Suzete Mendes, of Hyannis, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital, where she was subsequently pronounced deceased. A check of the area by Troopers and Firefighters, including thermal imaging of the woods adjacent to the roadway, confirmed that no other occupants had been in the car.
The crash remains under investigation by the State Police-Milton Barracks, the Troop H Detective Unit, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
