Massachusetts sees slight increase in COVID-19 positive test rate, decrease in hospitalizations, 10 more dead

Massachusetts saw a decrease in hospitalizations for the second straight day, but an increase in positive test rate in Sunday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 370 more positive cases announced today. A decrease from Saturday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate has increased to 0.9%.

Massachusetts had seen 416 more positive cases announced yesterday.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 120,824 with 10 more reported dead for a total of 8,917.

17,731 tests were performed on new individuals, over 3,000 less than yesterday’s report, to increase the overall tests administered to 2,704,512. The amount of individuals tested is now 1,857,664.

Hospitalizations have decreased in 88 of the last 118 days as hospitalizations decreased by 13 today to see the total drop to 312.

According to the CDC, as of September 6th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 6,226,879 with 188,051 dead.
