Massachusetts sees rise in COVID-19 hospitalizations, decrease in cases and testing in Tuesday’s report
Massachusetts saw an increase in hospitalizations for the second consecutive day in Tuesday’s COVID-19 report.
Massachusetts has seen 168 more positive cases announced today. A decrease from Monday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate remains at 0.9%.
Massachusetts had seen 222 more positive cases announced yesterday.
The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 121,214 with 8 more reported dead for a total of 8,933.
9,439 tests were performed on new individuals, over 400 less than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 1,876,973. The overall amount of tests administered is now 2,758,384.
Hospitalizations have decreased in 88 of the last 120 days as hospitalizations, however, they increased by 6 today to see the total rise to 328.

• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 80,709
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 77,940
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 2,769
According to the CDC, as of September 7th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 6,287,362 with 188,688 dead.
