Massachusetts sees over 5,200 reported COVID-19 cases in 5 days

Massachusetts continues to see elevated daily case counts in Monday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 1,216 more positive cases announced today. An increase from Sunday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate increased to 1.6% after several recent increases.

Massachusetts had seen 1,097 more positive cases announced yesterday.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total confirmed cases to 148,336 with 17 more reported dead for a total of 9,657.

20,086 tests were performed on new individuals, over 3,000 more than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 2,652,248. The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 5,723,873.

The 3 day average of COVID-19 deaths decreased to 15.

Hospitalizations have increased in 27 of the last 42 days, as they increased by 12 today to see the total raise to 550.

Westport and Somerset joined much of the Southcoast in the red in the weekly report.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to October 21st
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 98,806
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 94,080
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 4,726

As of October 26th, according to the CDC, the United States has seen 8,617,022 cases of COVID-19 with 224,601 reported deaths.
