Massachusetts sees increase in reported COVID-19 cases and deaths, decrease in hospitalizations, in Monday report

Massachusetts saw another decrease in hospitalizations in Monday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 765 more positive cases announced today. An increase from Sunday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate increased to 1.1% from 1.0%.

Massachusetts had seen 570 more positive cases announced yesterday.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total confirmed cases to 136,933 with 13 more reported dead for a total of 9,401.

18,801 tests were performed on new individuals, over 3,000 more than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 2,430,150. The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 4,815,399.

The 3 day average of COVID-19 deaths increased to 13 from 11.

Hospitalizations have increased in 18 of the last 28 days, but decreased by 10 today to see the total lower to 501.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to October 7th
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 92,662
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 88,825
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 3,837

According to the CDC, as of October 12th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 7,740,934 with 214,108 dead.
