Massachusetts sees increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations for third straight day, weekly report issued for cities, towns
Massachusetts saw an increase in hospitalizations for the third consecutive day in Wednesday’s COVID-19 report.
Massachusetts has seen 182 more positive cases announced today. An increase from Tuesday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate dropped to 0.8%.
Massachusetts had seen 168 more positive cases announced yesterday.
The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 121,396 with 4 more reported dead for a total of 8,937.
11,350 tests were performed on new individuals, almost 2,000 more than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 1,888,323. The overall amount of tests administered is now 2,798,585.
Hospitalizations have decreased in 88 of the last 121 days as hospitalizations, however, they increased by 10 today to see the total rise to 338.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to September 9th
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 83,091
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 81,102
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 1,989
According to the CDC, as of September 9th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 6,310,663 with 189,147 dead.
