Massachusetts sees COVID-19 hospitalizations increase for 2nd straight day, 15 more reported dead

Massachusetts saw an increase in hospitalizations for a second straight day in Sunday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 340 more positive cases announced today. A decrease from Saturday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate remains at 0.8%.

Massachusetts had seen 569 more positive cases announced yesterday.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 125,479 with 15 more reported dead for a total of 9,100.

17,399 tests were performed on new individuals, almost 3,900 less than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 2,085,220. The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 3,399,512.

The 3 Day Average of COVID-19 Deaths is 16.

Hospitalizations have decreased in 91 of the last 132 days, however, they increased by 2 today to see the total rise to 364.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to September 16th
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 84,600
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 82,683
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 1,917

According to the CDC, as of September 20th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 6,748,935 with 198,754 dead.
