Massachusetts sees COVID-19 hospitalizations decrease for fourth straight day, 11 deaths reported

Massachusetts saw a decrease in hospitalizations for a fourth straight day in Sunday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 303 more positive cases announced in the last 24 hours. An increase from the previous 24 hour period. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate remains at 1.4%.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 114,398 with 11 more reported dead for a total of 8,607.

Massachusetts had seen 366 more positive cases in the previous 24 hour period.

15,467 tests were performed, over 7,500 less than yesterday, to increase the overall total to 1,908,475. The amount of individuals tested is now 1,441,166.

Hospitalizations have decreased in 75 of the last 98 days, and saw a decrease of 3 today to see the total lower to 372.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to August 12th
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 77,383
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 74,610
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 2,773

According to the CDC, as of August 16th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 5,340,232 with 168,696 dead.
