Massachusetts sees COVID-19 hospitalizations, cases decrease, deaths increase in today’s report

Massachusetts saw a decrease in hospitalizations in Sunday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 570 more positive cases announced today. A decrease from Saturday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate decreased to 1.0% from 1.1%.

Massachusetts had seen 587 more positive cases announced yesterday.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total confirmed cases to 136,168 with 16 more reported dead for a total of 9,388.

15,797 tests were performed on new individuals, over 600 more than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 2,411,349. The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 4,748,004.

The 3 day average of COVID-19 deaths increased to 11 from 10.

Hospitalizations have increased in 18 of the last 27 days, but decreased by 20 today to see the total lower to 511.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to October 7th
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 92,662
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 88,825
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 3,837

According to the CDC, as of October 11th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 7,694,865 with 213,614 dead.
