Massachusetts sees COVID-19 deaths and cases increase, hospitalizations decrease
Massachusetts saw a decrease in hospitalizations in Wednesday’s COVID-19 report.
Massachusetts has seen 510 more positive cases announced today. An increase from Tuesday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate remains at 1.0% after two recent increases.
Massachusetts had seen 450 more positive cases announced yesterday.
The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 129,753 with 32 more reported dead for a total of 9,242.
14,404 tests were performed on new individuals, over 300 more than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 2,234,202. The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 4,050,617.
The 3 day average of COVID-19 deaths increased to 15 from 12.
Hospitalizations have increased in 12 of the last 16 days, but decreased by 6 today to see the total lower to 438.

With 8 percent putting a city or town in the red, Fall River continues to barely stay out of the red and stay a low risk community with a 7.7% Average Daily Incidence Rate per 100,000 (Last 14 days). New Bedford is in the red at 9.8 making the city still a high risk community.

• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 86,491
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 3,457
According to the CDC, as of September 30th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 7,168,077 with 205,372 dead.
