Massachusetts sees biggest jump in COVID-19 hospitalizations since April
Massachusetts saw an increase in hospitalizations in Sunday’s COVID-19 report.
Massachusetts has seen 594 more positive cases announced today. An increase from Saturday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate decreased to 0.8% from 0.9%.
Massachusetts had seen 515 more positive cases announced yesterday.
The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 128,426 with 13 more reported dead for a total of 9,191.
18,065 tests were performed on new individuals, over 3,700 more than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 2,192,625. The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 3,881,846.
The 3 day average of COVID-19 deaths decreased to 10 from 11.
Hospitalizations have increased in 10 of the last 13 days and increased by 54 today to see the total rise to 408. Massachusetts had not seen an increase in hospitalizations that large since April 21st when there was 98.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to September 23rd
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 87,024
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 84,350
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 2,674
According to the CDC, as of September 27th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 7,059,087 with 204,033 dead.
