Massachusetts Republican candidate for Governor Mike Minogue gives victory speech after beating Shortsleeve; to face Maura Healey in November

BOSTON – The Massachusetts Republican Party has announced that Mike Minogue has won the Massachusetts Republican Primary for Governor.

Minogue gave his victory speech at The Great American Beer Hall in Medford to an overflowing crowd of over 1,000 supporters.

After the victory, Mike Minogue stated, “Massachusetts is working for some, but not all.”

“Hard-working families are falling behind while the political establishment keeps taking care of itself. They’ve built a system that spends more, taxes more, and asks working people to carry more, while their friends and insiders get the breaks.”

“Tonight, we sent a message: those days are over.”

“We are going to demand accountability from those who spend your money. We are going to fight for affordability so working families can actually get ahead. We are going to create opportunity for people who work hard and play by the rules. And we are going to keep our communities safe.”

“This is bigger than one night, one campaign, or one election. This is about the people of Massachusetts, who can hold on to hope. Change is coming November 3rd. It’s time for a new kind of governor.” 

Massachusetts Republican Party Chairwoman Amy Carnevale added, “Mike Minogue has run a campaign of integrity, grounded in determination and a simple promise: hold government accountable, expose corruption, root out waste, and stand up for the people”

She continued, “Hardworking Massachusetts families are carrying too much: taxes, costs, and uncertainty about the future. They deserve safe streets, good jobs, real opportunity, and a better life for their children and grandchildren.”

“This is a moment for vision and fortitude. A moment for accountability. A moment to put the people first. The message is clear: the time for change is now,” she concluded.
