Massachusetts officer and family members save life of suicidal man
A Massachusetts officer and family members combined to save the life of a troubled man.
According to police, on Tuesday, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Springfield Police Officers and a BHN Clinician were dispatched to the 1600 block of Hall of Fame Avenue and the Memorial Bridge for a report of psychiatric behavior.
Members of the Springfield Police Real-Time Analysis Center updated responding officers that a man was over the railing, being held onto by two females, who were later determined to be family members.
Springfield Police Sergeant Alan Wine quickly arrived, rushed out of his cruiser and pulled the man back over the railing as his family members continued to hold on. The subject was transported to the hospital to hopefully receive the help that he needs.
